October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year marks 20 years of cybersecurity awareness. The focus for 2023 is on four key areas: enabling multifactor authentication, using strong passwords and a password manager, updating software, and recognizing and reporting phishing.
At DXC Technology, we chose to center around the theme “all in on cyber”. Each of us as individuals — whether we’re security professionals, in marketing, in HR, in finance or elsewhere in the organization — we all have a shared responsibility for cybersecurity. We all need to be diligent about always applying the best security practices to keep our organizations protected.
Many organizations are facing unprecedented security threats across their entire IT landscape. Addressing this challenge demands the creation of new cyber programs that are robust enough to deal with the increasing complexity and growing sophistication of today’s cyber threats. This involves understanding your risk, understanding the investment you need to make, and building good cases to ensure that the best risk outcome can result from those investments.
At one level, this is all about selecting the right technology to protect the organization against emerging threats. But it’s also about understanding all our roles and ensuring we build cyber resilient cultures and take the correct actions.
Only by making sure that all these things come together can we improve how we protect ourselves in both our business and personal lives. That’s why we at DXC — and our customers, who include some of the largest global organizations — say that being all in on cyber is foundational.
